Government of Sindh Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Labour Legislation

In line with its commitment to inclusive policymaking, the Government of Sindh held a meeting of the Committee constituted to deliberate on matters relating to the Sindh Labour Code.

The Committee, formed on the direction of the Honourable Chief Minister of Sindh, comprises Mr. Shahid Abdus Salam Thaheem, Honourable Minister for Labour & Human Resources Department; Mr. Muhammad Rafique Qureshi, Secretary, Labour & Human Resources Department; Mr. Muhammad Yasin Shar, Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department; and Syed Muhammad Ali Shah, Director General of Labour, Sindh.
The meeting took place on June 27, 2025, in the Sindh Assembly and was attended by representatives from both workers’ unions and employers’ associations.

Participants actively shared their views, highlighting key areas of concern and recommendations for reform. The Committee members welcomed the feedback and assured attendees that all suggestions will be carefully evaluated before any new legislation is finalized.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to transparency and collaboration, the Committee expressed that such consultative engagements will continue to ensure all stakeholders remain informed and involved throughout the legislative process.
